Last night I was invited back onto the up-and-coming Press TV station.
This is a rapidly-growing internet TV station that offers an antidote to toxic Fox and the rest. It has grown exponentially over the last 18 months, and is already widely viewed across Europe and the US, as well as the Middle East. Press TV will be available on Sky later this year. It also provides a welcome home to journalists who have "got themselves a reputation" for asking tough questions of the establishment: think James Whale, Yvonne Ridley, Andrew Gilligan et al.
Anyway, last night was "Forum", Press TV's equivalent of "Question Time", normally hosted by Andrew Gilligan, who was on holiday. Nick Ferrari did the honours instead.
The question was whether there was anything to the various 9/11 "conspiracy theories". As someone who has worked with survivors and campaigners (whose evidence has been ignored by the American authorities), I was invited on to argue for a new, independent inquiry. I was joined by best-selling 9/11 author Ian Henshall. Speaking for the opposition was ex-MOD Nick Pope and Wendy Grossman of "Skeptic" magazine.
A vote was taken with the studio audience before the debate on how many people thought there was more to 9/11 than we had been told: 45% (max) raised their hands. At the end of the show another vote was taken: 85%.
The point is not the power of either my or Ian's advocacy for a new, independent inquiry. It is just that when people have the chance to hear the facts, not the media and governmental spin, they start to think about the real issues.
The programme will be out next week. Watch this space.
